Yes, the book a day stint continues. *sigh* I just finished reading 'High Fidelity' (Nick Hornby). No I haven't seen the movie. After reading the book the likelyhood, despite all the people who've told me it was good, that I will go and rent it are pretty small. Maybe I'm being ultra thick and missing the book completely, but there wasn't really much there that I enjoyed. In any case, following in the pattern of 'About a Boy' (and no, I haven't seen that movie yet either) the ending was more like the book running out with a wimper. Ah well.
Well, here's one more person. I'd watch it, if I were you.. it's more the acting than it is the plot. Or something. But.. I guess you've heard all that before. Just adding my approval.

I, on the other hand, shake my head and marvel at your attention span. Even halfway through a day of nonstop reading (which only occurs when class necessitates it), my mind travels to locales as remote as your buddy K-Pax's home planet while my eyes glaze over the second half of each page.

first of all, laura, you have got to see "high fidelity" because its fantastic. i mean, really really fantastic. whether or not the book is good doesn't matter -- its a completely different thing (london/chicago) and while i didn't really love the book, john cusack is amazing in the movie.
but, still, maybe its just one of those things that is for the guys, and not accessible to women. regardless, spend a couple of quid and see the movie!
ps. "about a boy" is about a million times less of a movie/book than h.f., for the record.
