my name*

My parents gave me my name. Laura Christine. I don't know why they choose it. There was a story I once heard that my dad was driving downtown to work and thought up the name, but I can't remember who told it to me.

I well am aware that as Laura was the 5th most popular name for North Amercian baby girls in 1984. That makes it 'probably not so original'. This doesn't bother me much because it is still my name.

I suppose there are a lot of good things about having a common name like Laura. I can always find those socks, or fridge magnets, or souvenirs with my name on them and people always know how to spell my name. You get the idea.

Christine is also pretty common I've found, although the only time it seems to be used is why my parent's yell at me. When the full thing come I know I'm in big trouble.

The only thing I can say against my name is that none of the letters go below the line, cursive or printed. I always wanted a dippy letter.

i never liked my name that much - it could be made into to many stupid calling names and it never sounded good - still it is my name as well, and I doubt that I would change it even if I could.

I have meet very few Laura - it is an rear name in Norway, but I have meet alot of Chrisitne as this is more common. So I think I like Laura better :)

At least you can find socks magnets etc. I can only find them with wither John or Erik, never Jon-Erik
