editing

Listening to the radio this afternoon I realised: How can you give a movie award for best editing. As a viewer we only see the finished edition. It's already been edited. We don't know what it looked like before it was edited.

If it's as in, which movie was the best put together, then sure. I guess you can say which flowed the best visually etc.

Other than that I'm stumped.
